Fiuggi (FR) training camp
On the slopes of the Ernici Mountains, Fiuggi extends, surrounded by a rich vegetation of chestnut woods, so imposing as to be able to create "mini-houses". The upper part of the city is characterized by a maze of narrow streets and squares where you can immerse yourself in the charm of the rich history of the place. In the church of San Biagio Martire valuable works are preserved, such as a painting by Cavalier d'Arpino, a holy water font formed by a Romanesque capital and a fresco of the Virgin and Child (12th century; Giotto's school).
Two silver busts of the patron saint (S. Biagio) and co-tutor (S. Rocco) are found in the Collegiate Church of S. Pietro. Fifteen thousand beds and every comfort for the tourist instead characterize the lower part of the city, that of the Baths, where, in the Bonifacio VIII and in the Anticolana Spring, the "Fiuggi" mineral waters, famous for their therapeutic properties, are collected. openly recognized by numerous medical authorities: indicated for the treatment and prevention of kidney stones, gout, urinary tract infections, etc. (they were also prescribed to Pope Boniface VIII who drew immediate benefit from them and to Michelangelo to appease the "stone sickness" he suffered from).
Today Fiuggi is also a well-equipped center for relaxation and sport with golf and tennis courts, swimming pools, riding stables, archery, mountain bike trails and minigolf. Shopping, art galleries and auctions enliven the streets of the city in the evening.
